"Facetious" 7" recordings

A1: Smoke And Sweat
A2: Dirty Venetian Blinds
B1: You Need A Super, Special, Specialized, Specialist
Back in August, on the 28th to be exact, we spent the day in Tacoma cutting four tracks with Jeff Southard at Swoon Recordings. Three originals intended for a 7" titled "Facetious" on Whoa! Boat Records, and one cover song (The Sonics "Shot Down") to include as a free track with every digital download/code. We just recently, on the 8th of January 2012, made it back to Tacoma to mix said tracks, and we're pretty fucking keen on how they turned out. They're not as dry as the "S.S. Endurance" recordings were, these are heavy on the reverb, and cut to be hot as hell. Honestly, it sounds like we recorded in a trash, and stuff filled basement. Which, we, uh, did. Don't get me wrong it's still punk forward with some obvious hardcore leanings (oh, and a weird, obscure Beehive & The Barracudas reference) but it certainly has a 60's garage feel as well. It's dope. We're happy with how they turned out. The next step is mastering, which is also being taken care of by Jeff at Swoon and should be done some time in the near future. The artwork for the aforementioned seven inch is being finalized by Eric, but the front cover is here, in all it's glory. The jackets will be full-color, inside and out, with a lyric sheet on the inside of the jacket. The vinyl? Glad you asked, expect 100 on color (Baby blue? Light yellow?) and 200 on black, all spinning at 45 rpm with a digital download code. We're hoping for an early May release, and a little ten day tour to follow within the month, probably just to San Francisco and back. There's been talk of a quick run to the Midwest this summer as well, since we all dig lightning bugs.
That said, we also have a few shows coming up. We're heading North for a weekend next month, stopping in Everett on February 10th at Tony V's Garage to play with Be My Grave, and another band still to be determined. On the following day, the 11th, we'll be heading to Bellingham to play with Girl Guts and Muppet Fetish at the Cabin Tavern. Then in March, our buddies and label mates from San Francisco, Guntown, will be hitting the Pacific Northwest where we'll be joining them for three dates. We've got a night in the works at The Comet (the 19th or 20th of March) and we're also looking for something in the South Sound area, as well as a night North of the City. We'll keep you posted.
