June 2012 tour poster

So, we're heading out on a quick, little ten day tour to Central California and back in support of our new 7", "Facetious". It's one of those things where it seems hella close, but can't come soon enough. I'm ready to go. It'll be over 2,300 miles starting on Eric's birthday in Portland, and highlighted by four solid days in the Bay area. Plus we get a day off in the Redwoods, are planning on stopping by Crater Lake on the way to Salem, and we finish up in Tacoma, playing an 80's themed "punk rock prom". I've asked Bobby to be my date, but he won't stop fretting about what to wear. The plan, for now, is to try to do a tour diary of sorts while we're on the road but we'll see. It's tough to drag yourself to type and put into words the previous day when there's so much music to listen to, and bad conversation to be had.

"Facetious" 7" test pressings & jackets.

The test pressings for "Facetious" (you can stream track one, "Smoke And Sweat" from this link) are here! They've been officially approved, and ridiculously over played in our living room, and we're pretty hip to 'em. It's three songs spinning at 45 rpm in a limited press on both blue (pressing of 100) and black (pressing of 200) vinyl from Whoa! Boat Records. And they're sooo cute. Sure, seven inches themselves are inherently, aesthetically pleasing, appearing so tiny in comparison to the larger, long play 12", but these fuckers are baby blue! Seriously. Couple that with the drop dead, layout and design job done by Eric. Plus, we went all out this time around, with full-color front and back, inside and out covers. Live photos in a negative strip, a lyric sheet, a snapshot of our trusty, road-tested vehicle, John Claude Band Van, and a digital download code with each order. What more could you possibly want from us?
Maybe some live shows? We've got a handful of local shows in the very near future, namely with French Letters, Whiskey Radio, Mutiny, Mutiny, and Spy Device at The 2 Bit Saloon on Cinco De Mayo, or May 5th for the Spanish illiterate. At the end of May, our buddies, Catch Hell from S.F. will be in the area and we'll be playing two shows with them. The first will be May 30th at The Kraken in the U District, with Verbal Tip and a to-be-determined band. The second show with Catch Hell will be our record release party for the "Facetious" 7" at the Electric Tea Garden in Capitol Hill, with a boat load of dj's. Should be a fun night. Additionally, we've got a June tour in the works, a quick, ten day trip to Central California and back with an extended stay in the beloved Bay area, we'll have the dates posted soon. In the meantime, if you feel so inclined, the aforementioned 7" recording, "Facetious" is now available for pre-order via Whoa! Boat Records. Hop to and get yourself one, shipping with free first class postage by, or before June 1st. The appropriate buy now button can be found below.
